Our average class size is seventeen students.

How much is tuition?

Is tuition assistance available at St. John's School?

All students have a place at St. John’s School—regardless of money. Please inquire about receiving tuition assistance.  Application deadline is May 15, 2008 for the 2008-2009 school year.

St. John’s staff reinforces and builds upon family values of faith in God, hard work, careful study, honesty, fairness, compassion, and respect. St. John’s students demonstrate these virtues on a daily basis.

 

Do you have to be Catholic to attend St. John's School?

No. Catholics and non-Catholics alike presently enjoy attending St. John’s. We are a faith-based Catholic elementary school community. Our focus is on providing excellence in education for the mind, soul, and body.

 

Do I have to be a member of St. John’s Church?

No, parishioners and non-parishioners alike enjoy attending St. John’s School. Everyone is welcome here.

 

Is bussing available?

Bussing is available to and from school. Because the bussing area provided by the public school district does have boundaries, please contact Mary Jo Lapcinski at (218) 724-9392 for personal assistance with bussing.

 

What about before school and after school child care?

After school child care is available for preschoolers as well as students in kindergarten through sixth grade until 5:45 p.m. The cost is $2.50 per hour. Child care may be used at any time.

 

What are the school hours at St. John's School?

Classrooms open at 7:40 a.m. Students are released at 2:35 p.m. Child care is available after school until 5:45 p.m.

 

How long a day is extended day kindergarten?

Extended day kindergarten is in session from 11:00 to 2:35 p.m.

 

How can parents get involved in education?

St. John’s School recognizes that parents are the primary educators. Our school partners with parents formally and informally for the benefit of all students. Parents get involved formally through school organizations such as out school commission and our parent association as well as informally through weekly classroom and campus activities.

 

Are walk-in tours available?

Yes, please come and visit us any time. Come unannounced and observe, or set up an appointment and a personal tour with principal Peggy Frederickson.
