St. John's class of 2000 alumna, received first place in the twelve-year-old age group for her "Take your daughter to work" day essay contest, sponsored by the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Cane was subsequently invited to read her essay aloud at a U.M.D. luncheon celebrating women and their accomplishments. Regarding her experience at St. John's, Cane noted, "St. John's has helped me build confidence in myself and my family, helped me to understand who God is and why he loves me as I am, and most of all has taught me to respect everyone--including myself." |

St. John's alumnus and Marshall School student, has earned the highest Boy Scout distinction. Christensen, who became an Eagle Scout this past year, recalls that as a fourth grade boy scout at St. John's, he never imagined actually achieving the highest honor in scouting. "Scouting is partially religious in nature, and without the background I got at St. John's, I would never have gotten as far as I did. St John's is a wonderful place where kids can grow up and learn the basic skills and discipline to achieve their dreams," exclaims Christensen. |

Her work of art will be included in a forthcoming calendar composed of student suggestions for caring for our natural environment. |

St. John's alumnus, Central High School class of 2000, graduated as a class of 2000 valedictorian with three academic letters, varsity soccer senior captain, team MVP, and all-conference, all-area, and all-start team honors. Additionally, Kaufer was selected for the Best of Class honors presented by WDIO - T.V "I believe that my success in high school was derived from my time at St. John's School. St John's prepared me for the rest of my life because it challenged me and put me one step ahead of others in my future years of education," explains Kaufer. "St John's School set me in the right direction from the start." Kaufer plans to pursue degrees in engineering and Spanish at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. |

Class of 2000 alumnae, has been recognized for writing an award winning essay on the topic of her "Older best friend"--her grandmother. Knetsch was honored for her thoughtfully penned essay, and in turn honored her best friend and grandmother by reading her composition before an audience of a couple hundred Retired and Senor Volunteer Program volunteers, their families, and friends. |
