How does St. John's School rank academically?
Students are scoring two grades levels above based on standardized test. This means that students in grade 4 would receive an average grade equivalency of a student in grade 6.

Our average class size is seventeen students.

Is tuition assistance available at St. John's School?
All students have a place at St. John's School regardless of money. Please inquire about receiving tuition assistance. Application deadline is May 15, for the upcoming school year.

St. John's staff members reinforce and build upon family values of faith in God, hard work, careful study, honesty, fairness, compassion, and respect. St. John's students demonstrate these virtues on a daily basis.
Do you have to be Catholic to attend St. John's School?
No. Catholics and non-Catholics alike presently enjoy attending St. John's. We are a faith-based Catholic elementary school community. Our focus is on providing excellence in education for the mind, soul, and body.
Do I have to be a member of St. John's Church?
No, parishioners and non-parishioners alike enjoy attending St. John's School. Everyone is welcome here.
Is bussing available?
Bussing is available to and from school. Because the bussing area provided by the public school district does have boundaries, please contact the school office at (218) 724-9392 for personal assistance with bussing.
What about before school and after school child care?
After school child care is available for all day preschoolers as well as students in kindergarten through sixth grade until 5:30 p.m. The cost is $3.00 per hour. Child care may be used at any time that school is in session.
What are the school hours at St. John's School?
Classrooms open at 7:25 a.m. Students are released at 2:10 p.m. The day officially begins at 7:35 a.m. for K-6 and 7:40 a.m. for preschool. Morning preschool ends at 10:45 a.m. Child care is available after school until 5:30 p.m. There is NO child care after morning preschool.
Is there an option for half day kindergarten?
We do have half day kindergarten under special circumstances. Please contact the principal if you have questions on half day kindergarten.
How can parents get involved in education?
St. John's School recognizes that parents are the primary educators. Our school partners with parents formally and informally for the benefit of all students. Parents get involved formally through school organizations such as our school commission and our parent association, as well as informally through weekly classroom and campus activities.
